Day 1 | Hometown - Beijing Top

Starting your tour by taking flight to Beijing. Cross the International Date Line. Lose one day on the road.

Day 2 | Arrive Beijing Top

Arrive in Beijing, the capital city of China. Your tour guide will greet you at the airport arrival hall and then transfer to your deluxe hotel for a good night’s rest.

Day 3 | Beijing B, L, DTop

Beijing served as the capital of 5 dynasties over a period of 800 years. Start your city tour with a visit to the Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world. Next stop is the Forbidden City. This complex, the largest and most intact conglomeration of ancient structures of the imperial palace ever built in the world, features more than 800 buildings with 9999 rooms, resplendent golden-glazed roofs, red lacquered pillars and vermilion walls. In the afternoon, continue your tour to the Temple of Heaven, which was used by Emperors to offer sacrifices to heaven and pray for good harvest in ancient times. In the evening, enjoy a fabulous Peking Roast Duck Banquet.

Day 4 | Beijing (B, L, D)Top

The highlight today is a trip to the astonishing Great Wall at Juyongguan Pass. More than 12,000 Kilometers in total, the Great Wall is the most famous image of China throughout the world. It is the only manmade object visible from the moon, and as one of the Eight Wonders of the world, it is also a symbol of Chinese traditional culture and the pride of the Chinese nationality. After lunch, see skilled artisans at work at a Cloisonné Factory. Then take motor coach to the Ming Tombs and visit the Changling Exhibition Hall. Back to city, walk along the New Qianmen Street and have an outside view of the beautiful Bird’s Nets and Water Cube up close. You’ll also have an opportunity to shop at one of the largest Jade Centers of Asia today. Enjoy famous Peking Zha Jia Mian (Handmade Noodle with special soy paste sauce and vegetables) at a Lao Beijing style restaurant, cap off the day by enjoying an Chinese Kung-fu Show—the Legend of Kung-Fu.

Day 5 | Beijing (B, L)Top

In the morning tour to the exquisite Summer Palace (Imperial Garden), the largest ancient preserved garden in China and a former summer resort for Emperors and the chosen few, with a boat ride on Lake Kunming (weather permitting). A shopping visit to a Silk Carpet Shop followed by a Imperial Banquet Lunch at the Bai Family’s Courtyard Restaurant. You’ll have your afternoon free to explore the city by yourself. Walk on the Wang-fu-jing pedestrian street very near to your hotels will give you a very relaxed afternoon and join our optional program: Hutong (Old Ally) Life Experience Tour to have an unique experience to see local people’s life styles (US$65). Today’s dinner will be on your own.

Day 6 | Beijing - Xi'an (B, L, D)Top

Fly to Xi’an in the morning. Xi’an was the first Chinese city opening up its doors to the world during the Tang Dynasty. Over a period of more than 2000 years, Xian was the capital for eleven dynasties. Upon arrival, you will go to visit the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum, sightseeing the attached life-sized defending army to the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang. It is regarded as “the eighth wonder of the world” and among the top archaeological excavations of the 20th century. Visit an Art Ceramics Factory before we enjoy the special local Imperial Dumpling Banquet Dinner and the traditional Tang Dynasty Singing and Dancing Show in the evening.

Day 7 | Xi'an (B, L, D)Top

Visit the Shanxi Provincial Historical Museum in the morning. Enjoy a local special noodle lunch and watch Noodle Making Performance. After lunch visit the Ancient City Wall which is not only the most complete city wall that has survived in China, but also one of the largest and most complete ancient military defense systems in the world. Have a relaxed time to visit the Grand Mosque and Muslim Quarters before we enjoy most authentic local special cuisines for your dinner.

Day 8 | Xi'an - Guilin (B, L, D) Top

In the morning, fly to Guilin, the most picturesque city of China. Check into your hotel upon arrival followed by lunch. In the afternoon, Visit the Elephant Trunk Hill and the Reed Flute Caves where you’ll be impressed by the fantastic Karst limestone formations. In the evening, attend a local Minority Folk Dance Performance.

Day 9 | Guilin - Yangshuo (B, L, D)Top

Take a boat cruise trip from Guilin along the Li River for one of the finest excursions on your tour of China. The journey downstream to Yangshuo offers 30 miles of breathtaking scenery. You may have an opportunity to catch the fascinating sights of fisherman with cormorant birds while enjoy a delicious seafood lunch on the cruise. Arrive in the so called “Global Village” Yangshuo in the afternoon. Free time after getting to West Street. Situated at the center of Yangshuo, West Street is the oldest street in Yangshuo with a history of more than 1,400 years. It is greatly admired by foreigners for its simple style and courtyard-like setting. Surrounded by an array of traditional folks and amazing international elements, you’ll find West Street a terrific place to take a rest, both physical and psychological. Your time on the West Street is an experience to be with the landscape, with the people, and with the soul. You may also choose to ride a bicycle or walk to the countryside and experience the real Chinese Farmer’s life. Savor the local Miao and Zhuang ethnics’ gourmet food for your dinner. Free time in the evening or you can attend an optional night program: the large scale ethnic culture performance over the charming Li River-Impression Liu San Jie (US$60)

Day 10 | Yangshuo - Chongqing (B, L, D)Top

In the morning, transfer to Guilin Airport and fly to Chongqing. During the Second World War, it was the headquarter for Chiang Kai-Shek government and the base for the Flying Tigers who made their historic flights over the “Hump” to Burma. Tour the Panda House and visit General Stilwell Museum. Enjoy a famous Chongqing Hot Pot dinner before boarding your luxury cruise to begin your highly anticipated grand Yangtze River adventure.

Day 11 | Yangtze River (B, L, D) Top

Our cruise sets sail from Chongqing in the morning. The first off-shore excursion will occur at one of two places depending on local river conditions: Fengdu or Wanzhou Relocation Villages. Fengdu, also called “Ghost City”, is a peculiar site that is accessed via cable car. It contains numerous statues of devils and ghosts. Wanzhou Relocation Villages were formed due to the new Three Gorges Dam Project. Shore excursion to the village includes a visit to the Hope Elementary School.

Day 12 | Yangtze River (B, L, D)Top

Enter the exciting part of your cruise journey, the famous Three Gorges. The ship sails through Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge. Disembark at Wushan where you’ll board small riverboat for a leisurely ride through Shennong Stream, which offers clear running waters, picturesque rock formations, and even monkeys and goat along its banks. Reboard the cruise ship in the afternoon, sail through Xiling Gorge, then pass through the ship-lock of the new three gorges dam.

Day 13 | Yichang - shanghai-Suzhou (B, L, D)Top

The cruise ship will stop at Taipingxi (or Sandouping) in the morning. Disembark to visit the massive Three Gorges Dam Project which is the world's largest dam. Arrives in Yichang city, the final destination of your cruise journey then fly to Shanghai, the modern metropolis and commercial center of China. After arrival, transfer to Suzhou city by coach. Check into your hotel. Suzhou has been praised as “Venice of the East” and famous for its world class private gardens. In the afternoon, take a relaxing stroll through one the largest classical gardens and also an UNESCO World Heritage site in Suzhou, the Lingering Garden. Enjoy an entertaining local folk music performance in the garden. Later visit a silk factory and enjoy a silk fashion show before a delicious local cuisines dinner.

Day 14 | Suzhou - Wuxi (B, L, D)Top

Breakfast in your hotel and continue your tour in Suzhou. In the morning, have a relaxing boat cruise tour along the Grand Canal which is over 1,500 years old and connects Beijing to the rich coastal areas around Shanghai. Walk along the1300 years old Guan Qian Street. Lying in the downtown core of Suzhou, the main theme of the street involves eating, shopping and entertaining. There are hundreds of century-old shops, restaurants, bars, stores and clubs in old fashioned structures surrounded by colorful signs and neon lights along the street. Travel to Wuxi city by coach afterwards. Wuxi is renowned for its natural landscapes which are truly something to marvel at. After lunch, visit the Lingshan Grand Buddha, one of the largest Buddha statues in the world. A shopping tour to a Freshwater Pearls Farm. Savor the famous Lake Tai flavors for your dinner.

Day 15 | Wuxi - Hangzhou (B, L, D)Top

Breakfast in your hotel and then travel to Hangzhou city by coach. Hangzhou is a city with a rich history and culture. Marco Polo described this place as “the most beautiful and magnificent city in the world”. Upon arrival, take the boat cruise on the magnificent West Lake, the symbol of the city. In the afternoon, walk or have a bike ride around the charming West Lake to visit a few famous sightseeing spots. Taste the well-known Dragon Well Tea before enjoying the special West Lake-flavor dinner at famous Shan Wai Shan restaurant located on the West Lake. In the evening, we’ll enjoy a large scale art performance over the West Lake, the Impression West Lake.

Day 16 | Hangzhou - Wuzhen Town-Shanghai (B, L, D) Top

In the morning, have a tour to the Former Residence of Xueyan Hu, the richest Chinese businessman in late Qing Dynasty and the n proceed to Wuzhen Town, a quiet water town with 1300 years history and one of the few in China that still retain their quiet and natural characters of typical Chinese water towns. Take a paddle-wood-boat ride across the small water town to feel its serenity, peacefulness, and subtle beauty. After lunch, we travel back to Shanghai by coach. Check into hotel upon arrival. In the evening, enjoy famous steaming dumpling Dim Sum for your dinner and then you will have a relax Night Cruise tour on the Huangpu River.

Day 17 | Shanghai (B, L, D)Top

Your whole day city tour starts by walking along the famous Bund, a mile-long stretch along the Huangpu River. Lined by the colonial architectures of European design, this area is the best place to capture the western influences of the old days. Tour to the Temple of Old City Gods. The afternoon tour program includes a visit of the Shanghai Museum to see the ancient Chinese art, furniture and jade and a walk on the bustling shopping district, Nanjing Road. Enjoy your dinner at the Lv Bo Lang restaurant for most classic Shanghai flavors. The restaurant has hosted heads of states from more than 40 countries. Watch an exciting Chinese Acrobatic Show in the evening.

Day 18 | Shanghai - Hometown (B)Top

Your luxurious tour of China has ended just too soon. This morning, we’ll take the Maglev train to the airport in just about 7 minutes and experience the speed as fast as 345 miles per hour. See “Zai Jian” to China fly back home. You’ll arrive home on the same day.
